This research axis focuses on the development of strategies aimed at optimizing the use of antibiotics, with the goal of improving their effectiveness while reducing the emergence of antibiotic resistance and toxicity. This axis encompasses both the field of veterinary medicine and human medicine.
In the livestock sector, research focuses on:

• Early and individual detection of alterations in the health or well-being of animals, using individual monitoring technologies such as sensors and video images, which generate large volumes of data processed and analyzed by specific methods derived from artificial intelligence.
• The impact of collective administration of antibiotics in drinking water on the variability of therapeutic responses, as well as the search for optimized solutions.

In humans, research aims to optimize dosages of anti-infective agents through modeling approaches applied to pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, with the aim of promoting personalized medicine.
